This concerned the ongoing plan to base Israeli fighter-bombers at Marneuli military airbase, 20 kilometers south of Tbilisi and that these aircraft were intended for a special air raid on the Iranian capital city of Tehran.  It was originally felt that six aircraft were to be utilized, three attacking the city itself and three to attack targeted Iranian oil facilities.

The captured Israeli’s papers, all written in Hebrew, when translated by the Russian GRU turned out to be somewhat different in nature. While one flight was indeed intended to attack various Iranian oil facilities, the second flight was planned to drop chemical warfare bombs on Tehran.

These bombs, which were designed to blow open at a set altitude, were filled with weapons-grade anthrax and this anthrax, kept in a specially sealed box at the U.S. diplomatic offices in Tiblisi, came from Fr. Detrick in Maryland and their shipment had the approval of the President himself.  Another twist to the bizarre plot was that the aircraft, made in the United States, were to have their Israeli marking masked with American markings and that these markings were to be applied in a water-based paint that could easily be hosed off when this flight returned to Georgia.

Will the Israelis attack Iran? What are the implications for the US if Tel Aviv decides to take things in its own hands? What will Iran do if that happens? These are a few of the numerous questions that observers are asking regarding the Iranian nuclear programme and the interest Israel in particular is showing in destroying Iran before it completes its nuclear networks.

In the aftermath of the Russian-Georgian war that is still rattling the capitals in Europe and America, it was revealed that Israel had intentions to use Gerogia – where Israel has great military influence – to attack Iran. It also appears that the plans went bust when Georgia impatiently attacked its breakaway but pro-Russian republics in Abkhazia and Ossetia.

The plans were to be carried out swiftly after the Ossetia attack by Georgia. The attack on Ossetia by Georgia would have been used as a distraction by Israel which expected the world to forget the invasion of the break-away republics and this while the world focusing on the China Olympic Games.

The entire plan was busted when Russia reacted strongly to the Ossetia invasion by Georgia. Iran was to be attacked at that time in order to boost the Republican Party’s candidate to the US Presidential elections. John McCain was at that time trailing behind Senator Barack Obama of the Democratic Party in polls.

With the attack coming from Georgia, it would have taken the Iranians and the world by surprise. It would have also been a camouflage for the Israelis and the west which would have insisted that no one knew of a possible Georgian attack against Iran.

After all, what does Georgia has to do with Iran’s nuclear programme? The story would have unfolded in such a way that even Russia would have been blamed for possibly closing an eye – Russia being a border nation with Georgia – on the plans to attack Iran from the Georgian air space. No one would have suspected that Israel was behind the plot in the first place though this would have unraveled later on.

Israel is a nuclear nation; it has numerous nuclear war heads which it developed since the 1960’s with the help of France, the US and other European nations. The financing of the Israel’s nuclear programme came from Washington indeed but the UK and Switzerland played important roles in funding the Israeli regimes to build their nuclear arsenal while the world remained unsuspecting.

Outright this was a violation of the treaties that the Europeans and the Americans themselves deemed important to prevent nuclear technology from getting into the hands of rogue states, terrorists and weaker nations that could use such technology as bargaining power. The western world aided and assisted Tel Aviv from day one in its plans to build its nuclear reactors which are located in Dimona. The hypocrisy is obvious. Israel is armed with nuclear weapons but Iran cannot have nuclear technology for its usage. Iran says it is preparing for darker days when oil will perish and other means of producing electricity will become scarce or too expensive to sustain. Hence its launch of the Nuclear Programme with the help of Russia and which is nearing completion.

The critics of the news site said such an accusation points the blame to the US which would have been seen as an accomplice in the attack since Georgia is a US ally. They say all the suspicions against Georgia would have been directed to the US rather than to a conflicting and blurry estimate that other parties than Israel and the US were involved in such a plot.

Anatoly Nogovitsyn said Israel had supplied arms to Georgia, delivering weapons systems including eight types of unmanned aircraft and about 100 anti-tank mines. The Israeli presence consisted of  Isreal’s Defence Force (IDF) special forces, Israeli Air Force personnel, detachments of the Mossad and other Israeli groups, to include mercenaries, were all working, in complete cooperation with American forces, to train and equip the new Georgian armed forces.

At the same time, Israel was preparing to move some of its attack aircraft into Georgia, base them on Israeli-controlled airfields in southern Georgia and arm and equip them for a strike on Tehran. It should be noted that the distance from Tel Aviv to Tehran is 1,600km  one way, and the  distance from Southern Georgia is  1,149 km one way. Slip tanks add 600-800 miles to the overall range.

The aircraft designated for the attack were the Israeli Air Force's (IAF) F-16I Sufa (Storm), a two seater, designed and built solely for Israel by  Lockheed Martin. The F-16I has a 23,600-kilogram [52,000 pound] take-off weight, considerably more than the earlier F-16s in IAF service, and may be is armed with the AMRAAM air-to-air missile.

The AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile, or AMRAAM, and the AIM-9 Sidewinder or the AGM-65 Maverick which are air-to-ground tactical missile (AGM) designed for close air support. These missiles  are  effective against a wide range of tactical targets, including armor, air defenses, ships, ground transportation, and fuel storage facilities. There were to be twelve units belonging to the Israeli Air Force 107 Squadron, the so-called ‘Knights of the Orange Tail’ which was nominaly stationed at Hatzerin AFP (LLHB).

The air strike was to be aimed at Iranian government buildings with one Israeli group striking where top Iranian officials were known to be working, at housing for the top leadership, at any identified laboratory where nuclear work was being carried on and a second flight was to strike at Iranian oil wells, pipelines and Persian Gulf oil erminals. Once the dual strike was completed, the aircraft would head towards Israel and then were slated to be refueled in mid-air by an American tanker aircraft.

That Putin was aware of the pending Georgian attack on South Ossetia is certain and the strong probability is that someone connected with the CIA’s Russia desk gave sensitive material on this subject to the Russians and an Israeli IDF member is positively known to have given very specific information to the Russian GRU.

After the Russian invasion of Georgia and the disintegration of the Georgian army, a Russian spy satellite spotted a convoy of U.S. Hummers heading down the highway towards the Georgian port of Poti, which happened to be occupied by Russian troops, and the convoy, filled with a group of Georgian special troops, was captured.
