Islam is linked to the sayings and doings of the Prophet

Islam is tightly linked to what the Prophet of Islam says and does, since the Holy Al-Quraan was revealed through the mouth and tongue of the Prophet. The non-Muslims and the munafiqs denies their rejection of this fact, yet they also claim in the same breath that Islam is a stand alone faith that belongs to anyone who want to practice part and parcels of what the religion imposes.

Malaysia: Vision 2020 or Mission 2-0/2-0

There has been much debate in Malaysia regarding the rights of Muslims to leave Islam and to embrace other faiths. The Muslim community seem to be at a disadvantage on arguments from the Interfaith movement and a movement called the Article 11, which are both campaigning for Islam to be bent and to accept apostasy and proselytizing as part and parcel of the lives of Malaysian Muslims. However, there are simple arguments, maybe not acceptable to the intransigent non-Muslim groups but that can be turned into laws to prevent the sin of Muslims going against the will of their Creator.

Islam has been given to mankind as a gift by the Creator of mankind himself thanks to the coming on earth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the last prophet of Allah. Islam is universal and there are few that can claim such universalism. As a gift to mankind, it is meant to be adopted and not to be rejected. Mahatma Ghandi, the revered and respected Indian scholar and peace maker used to read the Holy Quraan and advise his people on the solutions that the book of Allah proposes. Others have made the sayings of the Prophet of Islam part of their national culture. Is it not Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) who said the pen is mightier than the sword?

People in real life does not reject gifts given to them by other people, unless they are enemies or have some differences that forces them to do so. How to reject the universal gift of Islam given to man by Allah when Allah is not he enemy of men and women and is indeed their creator?

It is to be said that if Muhammad did not come to earth until today, Islam would be in its rudimentary form and Christianity - despite its flaws and the fact that it has been hijacked from the beginning by Roman politicians - would have ruled the earth singlehandedly.

The non-Muslims and some Muslims who may be from the groups called the “fasiqs” and “munafiqs” are pressing the government of Malaysia to adopt apostasy as an official way of leaving Islam. The fasiqs are those who refuses to follow the principles of the Prophet of Islam while the munafiqs are the hypocrites who are still of Islamic faith. They are basing their claims that Islam is not air-tight and people can be allowed out of the faith since they claim there are no specific ayat of the holy Al-Quraan that speaks of punishment for apostates.

This is indeed so untrue since the holy Al-Quraan, the constitution of Islam and of the Muslims, specifically states that Muslims who leaves Islam are doing so against the will of the Creator and are going against the Creator himself. The Holy book also mentions in many instances that those who leave Islam for other faiths will be punished in the hereafter and that their hypocrisy indeed is punishable by a smack on their necks and the crushing of their toes.

Legally speaking, the non-Muslims have no right to challenge these ayat's of the holy Al-Quraan. The main reason being that they do not believe in the Holy Quraan and they do not follow it hence they are out of the Muslim world. The holy-Quraan belongs to those who abide by it and to abide by it one must be a Muslim and to be a Muslim one must first recite the act of faith of Islam.

The act of faith is as follows: There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the last messenger of Allah.

Non-Muslims does not abide to this act of faith since they are aware that abiding to this clearly means abiding to the entire Al-Quraan thus being dependent on the rules and laws and regulations that is pronounced in the Al-Quraan and the Hadiths.

Now the non-Muslims dismisses (alongside some Muslims who calls themselves ultra-liberals) that the hadiths cannot be trusted and that these traditions must be revoked and abandoned. They claim that everything is in the Holy Al-Quraan and yet some of them rejects outright what the Holy Al-Quraan says regarding apostates and those who are hypocrites. Why do they use such measurements in their criticism of Islam is simplified by the fact that they do not 'Believe' in the Quraan and they do not abide to the kalimah shahadah or the act of faith and they do not give a damn about Rasulullah (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Holy Book did not miss anything, even regarding apostasy

Islam is tightly linked to what the Prophet of Islam says and does, since the Holy Al-Quraan was revealed through the mouth and tongue of the Prophet. The non-Muslims and the munafiqs denies their rejection of this fact, yet they also claim in the same breath that Islam is a stand alone faith that belongs to anyone who want to practice part and parcels of what the religion imposes.

Malaysian politicians and largely the population has the silly habit of telling critics not to compare Malaysia to countries where Malaysia is inferior. They do then reserve the right to compare Malaysia to countries that are seemingly inferior to Malaysia. If comparative analysis of the local situation with regards to events in other countries, disregarding the fact that the countries may be more advanced or less advanced to Malaysia, is not accepted then why compare Malaysia to nations that are seemingly less advantageous to Malaysia. There is no need for critical analysis of the Malaysian chaotic situation.

The same applies to Islam. If one does not accept the act of faith of Islam and does not abide to what the Prophet says and does (his traditions or hadiths) and only lives according to what that person believe is acceptable, then we are bound to live in a state of anarchy where any tom, dick and harry of the world will say that Islam is their faith but they will not pray and will not fast and will not go to hadj or will not pay the zakaats and will not even accept the first act of faith of Islam while they will only abide to what makes them comfortable. This is pure hypocrisy and such an act is indeed punishable in the hereafter as the Holy Al-Quraan is filled with quotes that says hell is the abode for all hypocrites and none of them will escape the hell fire and the punishment that is to be meted to such low-life characters.

Yet, the non-believers and the ultra-liberals believe they will escape the punishment in the hereafter while most of them indeed do not believe in the existence of the hereafter. Then it is to be wondered why do we Muslims have to listen to their arguments and go to the length of creating new forms of Islam-'isms' that goes against the desires of our Lord Creator?

When one accepts Islam, its clear that the person is bound by laws, the by-laws and rules, regulations and a constitution that guarantees everything, even the punishment for leaving Islam. If the Muslim world of today, with its leaders who are so weak in Islamic understanding does abide to the pressures of the growing numbers of ultra's in their societies, then they will surely be on the losing end when one day the ultra's are handed total victory.

The weakness of the Islamic argument, according to the ultra's and the neo-cons, is that the Al-Quraan does not mention worldly punishment for the apostates. This is such an untruthful statement since the Al-Quraan, which contains everything, could not have missed the punishment to be meted to those who embraced Islam fully but then decided to leave for some reasons.

It is unconceivable that Islam would be that weak on such a fundamental point. Indeed those who want to change Islam from being a strong faith to a weaker faith than what Christianity, for example, is today, then nothing that is said in arguments to support that Islam does not allow apostasy will be acceptable to them.

Then again, why do we bother whether this or that is not acceptable to them. Do the non-Muslims run our daily lives or do we eat because they allow us to eat or live because they granted us the right to live and to breath? For all that we know, the non-Muslims in a majority Muslim nation has absolutely no right to question the rights of Islam.

When they start to do so, they have to be put in their rightful place of a minority that is allowed to live in a majority Muslim nation thanks to the Islamic injunction of the payment of the 'jizya' taxes to the Muslim run government.

Now, Malaysia is barely a Muslim state since it is only a mini-democratic nation with a Muslim majority community. This is one of the fundamental reason why the ultras and the neo-cons of Washington are attacking the fundamentals of Islam with such freedom in Malaysia. They are altogether afraid that the Muslims will claim their Islamic rights and will curb on their activities, hence they run their stories of freedom of speech and freedom of choice in national newspapers in Malaysia.

In the event the Malaysian authorities are unable to cope with the onslaught of the neo-cons and of the local ultras, then the Muslims must be allowed to question the veracity of the faiths of these groups. Then only there will be fairness and democracy will be enhanced and the rights of every single individuals will be respected.

If the Muslims have no rights to question the faith of others, while the others have the absolute democratic rights to defend their questioning of Islamic fundamentals, then something is definitely wrong in Malaysia.

The right of the Muslims starts with the bondage that links the Muslims to Islam and to the Holy Al-Quraan and the hadiths of the Prophet of Islam. Rejecting the hadiths will not make apostasy an acceptable fact in the society since Islam promises punishment in the hereafter (which is fully inscribed in the Quraan) for apostates, hypocrites and for those among Muslims who stirs the faith of their brothers and sisters only to lead them to chaos, anarchy and destruction. Which is indeed the path that leads against the Creator and which is punishable by the laws of the holy Al-Quraan and such punishments are to be meted on earth and in the hereafter.

Muslims are not to leave Islam once they have accepted it and they are to be cleansed and brought back to Islam if they go astray. This is the whole purpose of having a faith, a religion and a way of life that is a gift from Allah to his last Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), who has indeed given us this gift in exchange for our loyalty to him and the Creator.

If this is not sufficient for Muslims to defeat non-Muslims in debates, in talks and in Interfaith dialogues, then it would be a pity indeed since this theory applies fully with the reasoning of the promoters of such interfaith dialogues.

The members of the non-Muslim legion that is forcing the Muslims in a corner in order to make them accept apostasy, proselytizing and allow Muslim women to publicly socialize with non-Muslim men, as well as accept lesbianism and homosexuality as part and parcel of the 'new' Islam-'isms' have their own ways of thinking.

They think and believe that one has the absolute right to think and believe in anything that one want or wishes to. If this is the de-facto style of living they wish to promote and they wish the Muslims to adopt in the near future, then it defeats the purpose to be Muslim and to abide to Islam altogether.

This also means that there was no purpose for Allah to create Islam and to send prophets to make the people aware of his existence and of the path to follow. Why create a faith, send the prophets and make Islam a better religion and way of life as well as the best system of governance with transparency based on sincerity and honesty only to “forget” to impose a ban on those leaving the faith?

The promoters of anti-Islamic ways of life and apostasy in Malaysia and elsewhere in the Muslim world are promising nothing except that one has the right to leave Islam, which they argue is a constitutional right and a basic human right. They are wrong there since no one can either force a non-Muslim to become a Muslim or force a Muslim to leave Islam.

They should be asked the question. If people has the absolute right to choose their faith, then why people have no right at all to choose the life span or their color and creed or their parents?

Islam says clearly, through the Prophet himself, that every single human beings are born Muslims and they are turned into full blown humans at the age of 7. This is also the age when a boy or a girl decides in the heart and soul to be a Muslim or otherwise. In most cases, we are instructed by our parents on the faith we are to follow in our life span on earth.

Non-Muslim parents will normally impose their faith on their children and the Muslim parents will automatically do so. That does not change the fact that Islam is of the belief that humans accepts Islam or are forced to reject Islam at the tender age of 7, which is the age when the young person – considered to be of angelic nature before the age of 7 is reached – will decide on the faith to follow.

As a social entity, Islam has the right – and the UN or any organizations cannot steal this right from the Muslims – to impose conditions on its followers. It is this right that is being attacked by the IFC groups in Malaysia in particular. These groups feel that they are winning this battle hence their insistence to pursue the venture until victory is met.

For argument sake, going against the will of the Creator is a sin and sins are punishable in Islam, be it on earth or in the here after. No one can escape such a sin of abandoning the belief that Allah is the only God and that Muhammad is the last Messenger of Allah. Leaving Islam means departing from this act of faith and to renounce the act of faith means punishment by the society – hence by the regime in place in the country where the apostate renounces the act of faith. This is the spirit of the Holy Quraan when it comes to punishment to be meted to those who become apostates.

There are several ayat2 of the Holy Al-Quraan that deals with apostasy and they can be found on the Internet. In a future article, World Futures On Line will detail the verses of the Holy Book of Islam in which it talks of apostates and hypocrites. One website that details these verses well is the www.islam.org and a careful search of the verses and a deep understanding of the binding principles that leads Muslims to follow Islam will make one see that the Quraan indeed condemns those who leaves Islam and that worldly consequences are to be expected from the ruling authority of the nation.

It\'s because these guys are not practicing a religion, they are practicing an irrational Arabian cult. And the thing about irrationality is that it doesn\'t last for very long, therefore needs to be forcefully implemented and hold people against their will by threats of death.

What\'s even more out of place here is a Libya-trained foreign Islamist from Mauritius trying to jack around with Malaysian issues.

Islam\\\'s Rights
written by Kazi, December 28, 2006
Despite what you think Murtad Cina, Islam has the absolute right to do what it thinks is best for its followers. Islam is not confusionism, where you are confused on how to pee or wee or eat or sleep...Islam is complete and invites people to be good representatives of Allah on Earth. It does not undermine you, forces you to be Muslim but it has absolute legal and constitutional rights to force Muslims to behave and not to leave. If in Malaysia the Muslims are too weak to enforce Islamic rights, then so be it. No one is worried about that. What is of interest to me as a Muslim writer, is to make sure the message of Islam passes across with Muslims more than with kafirs. You are not my target. Worry not and go sleep well, even if confusius did advise you not to meddle in others affairs, let me please welcome you to a better understanding of Islam. Keep reading our site...you will not lose!

Thanks for your comment. If you are a Muslim, I have no problem what you do with your life. U want to be apostate...up to u as long as you do it privately.

If you are not, then I have a problem since you have no right to comment on Islam. Lakum deenukum waliyadeen! means your faith is yours and mine is MINE!

The Saying: THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD.

Who Said It: Edward Bulwer-Lytton

When: 1839

The Story behind It: In Act II of Bulwer-Lytton's play Richelieu, Cardinal Richelieu learns of a plot against him contrived by a friend and confidant, the monk Joseph. Since as a priest he could not challenge the monk to physical combat, Richelieu issued a written statement which contains the following:

Beneath the rule of men entirely great,

The pen is mightier than the sword.

Bulwer-Lytton was not the only one, nor was he the first, to have the thought. The Greek poet Euripides, who died about 406 B.C., said, "The tongue is mightier than the blade." In 1600 Shakespeare had Rosencrantz in Hamlet say that "... many wearing rapiers are afraid of goosequills." In 1621 Robert Burton wrote The Anatomy of Melancholy, in which he stated: "From this it is clear how much more cruel the pen may be than the sword." Also preceding Bulwer-Lytton was Thomas Jefferson, who in 1796 sent a letter to Thomas Paine in which he wrote: "Go on doing with your pen what in other times was done with the sword."

US President-elect in his victory speech bracketed financial crisis with the two wars to define crucial challenges calling for immediate action on his part. History also bears out that the Afghans can’t tolerate ‘occupation’. No wonder since 2006 the Taliban have been on the rampage. Even Kabul remains tentatively safe. During my last visit home to Peshawar, I was met by a few Afghans who told me of the reign of terror prevailing in Jalalabad, Paktia and Kabul etc as the state machinery/ foreign forces   could not cope with prevailing mayhem. The spill-over effect of Afghan ‘insurgency’ is   widely felt in Pakistan; more so in NWFP/ Baluchistan. History and geography combine to create challenges which the elected Govt and its armed forces have to face daily.
