World Futures is publishingan anthology of poems on the theme ‘Peace’ and is inviting potential poets and poetesses to send in their poems on this important subject. We are also thinking of including some short stories on ‘Peace’ in the book. The poems must not be more than 30 lines in length. They must also be originals, not copied from other authors. The authors of the poems in this anthology will keep their copy rights for their work but World Futures will reserve the right to publish the poems in any format, digital or printed. The world is living in an age of wars and terror. No matter who is behind these wars, the people of the countries affected are suffering greatly while most of the human race can only watch from a distance. This anthology on peace will be an attempt at portraying the greatness of the human race to achieve peaceful resolutions of conflicts, their love for peace and the need for peace in this world. Send the poems, in English, French or Malay and Indonesian languages, to the editorial office of World Futures at the email address: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or directly to the editor of the website: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it A picture of the author is welcomed, along with a short bio data of the writer. The writer will also have to send us a paragraph on his or her passion for poetry and short story writing.

| From Hamas to Kenya, roughing up democracy |

The American constitution, the basis of democracy in the USA is indeed a good example of how a democratic system can be hijacked by a group of people with an evil agenda. Democracy is violated in Kenya too where Kenya's opposition movement, which is challenging the election in December that Kenya's president, Mwai Kibaki, narrowly won. In Palestine, the legitimate government is now being suffocated...What democracy is it?
