US soldier uses Quraan as target practice PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kazi Mahmood
Saturday, 24 May 2008

The Quraan has been the subject of Bush’s attack against Islam and it was the cause of a furor against Holland after a Dutch MP Geert Wilders produced a cheap publicity stunt against the Holy Book.

Protests in Afghanistan and Iraq, two occupied Muslim territories under US military command, were registered against the Nato and the US after it was revealed a Quraan was used as target practice by a US soldier in Iraq. The Quraan with 14 bullet holes and with graffiti scribbled on its pages is the latest example of violations and disrespect by the Americans.

A Nato soldier and two civilians died after violent manifestations in Afghanistan denouncing the profanation of the Quraan by the US soldier, a sniper who has since been removed from Iraq. Another soldier associated with Nato and seven more Afghan civilians were wounded in the demonstrations.

There are fears that this incident may spark more violence in other Muslim countries though it is not expected to see any attacks on US targets anywhere around the world. Muslims sees the Quraan as a holy book – which it is indeed – and defacing it or committing acts of profanation against the book is a terrible crime for Muslims.

A U.S. commander held a formal ceremony apologizing to Sunni tribal leaders in Iraq for the incident and US President George W. Bush, the worst president alive in the world, apologized to Iraq’s Prime Minister and Washington’s puppet in Baghdad. The Bush apology is not available publicly – and may never have been uttered as claimed by the American press – but it is revealed that the ignorant American president said he was sorry for the incident to Nouri Al Maliki.

The Quraan has been the subject of Bush’s attack against Islam and it was the cause of a furor against Holland after a Dutch MP Geert Wilders produced a cheap publicity stunt against the Holy Book. It was also revealed that American soldiers have defaced the Quraan in Guantanamo where at least 400 Muslims are being held against their will, illegally by the US warmongering regime.

At the start of the war against Islam, the Bush administration called for a new ‘crusade’ against Muslims and Islam calling world leaders to be with him or to be against him in this war. Since then, Islam, the Holy Al-Quraan and the Muslims have become the easy targets of anyone who want to take a shot at somebody or something.

The war on terror – which is a real war against Muslims and Islam, has altogether given chance to anti-Islamic elements to attack the rights of Muslims from Malaysia to Great Britain, France and Turkey.

During the 7 years of state terrorism sponsored by the US government, American soldiers have desecrated several Muslim prayer houses or Masjids, even killing wounded Muslim insurgents in Masjids. They have also destroyed many copies of the Holy Al-Quraan while in Guantanamo their soldiers used the Holy book as toilet seat or even stepped on it. These are only mild examples of what the Americans have done while we refrain from publishing the worst.

According to Islamic beliefs, those who desecrate or mistreat the Quraan will pay a personal but very high price. Time, which cures most of the ills, will show and if we are lucky enough we shall witness the pain and agony that the desecrators and abusers of the Holy book will go through.

However, we also wish that such incidents will not occur again and that the desecrators thinks ten times before they commit such odious crimes.

China fails in dialogue with Muslims, expect rise in attacks
In its rush to provide an incident free Olympics, the Chinese authorities have done the obvious – bar locals from access to the Olympic villages and to stadiums. These places are only accessible if tickets are showed and passes are checked. There appears to be little scope for rebel groups to attack the Olympic stadiums but the authorities are not willing to let anything happen.

Australia should stop the farce in anti-terror trial

The Australian government and justice system should stop the farce in the trial of Muslim Journalist Belal Saadallah Khazaal of the New South Wales in Australia. It has been proven that the police did not do its investigation properly before sending the accusation papers against Belal to trial. This has not only damaged the image of the Australian Muslim but also that of Australia as a nation that is too pushy to prove that Muslims are terror suspects.

I swear they robbed me of my rights!

It is the season of swearing with the American song ‘I swear’ turning the atmosphere into a happy swearing mood! While Anwar Ibrahim is the only one who says ‘I won’t swear’, the rest of the cohorts are swearing over the Muslim holy book or unofficially and even to clear their hands of scandals.

Image US adopts pre-emptive political meddling
The US insisted that Myanmar should accept its aids – which surely come with strings attached – but when the Myanmar regime refused to recant the US pressed the Asean defense Ministers during a meeting in Singapore in May this year. It is only when this failed that the US decided to give up on the Myanmar issue. Washington tried to take advantage of the desperate situation in the country which it considers as an enemy state.
